Tour Details

Embark on an enchanting 9-day journey through the cultural and scenic wonders of Greece. The adventure commences in Athens, where a transfer awaits to take you to your hotel. The second day unfolds with an immersive city tour, exploring iconic sites such as the Panathenaic Stadium and the Acropolis Museum.

 

The journey then leads to Argolis and Olympia, showcasing ancient theaters, archaeological sites, and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Moving on to Delphi, you’ll traverse the Corinthian Bay and explore the Archaeological Site and Museum. The tour continues to Kalambaka, with a visit to the awe-inspiring monasteries of Meteora perched atop colossal rocks.

Returning to Athens, you’ll then set sail for the captivating island of Santorini on the seventh day. Explore its volcanic wonders, including Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, and witness the renowned Oia sunset.

The adventure concludes on the ninth day with a transfer to the airport, leaving you with lasting impressions of Greece’s rich history and breathtaking landscapes.

  • As from 01/01/2024, the accommodation tax of 1.5 € for 3 * hotel / 3 € for 4* hotel / 4 € for 5* hotel per night valid from 01/01/2018, is replaced by the CLIMATE CRISIS RESILIENCE FEE which is 3 € for 3 * hotel / 7 € for 4* hotel / 10 € for 5* hotel 10 € per room/night from March to October 2024. This fee is payable by the guests directly at the hotel upon check out.

Important notes

  • Hotel official check-in time: 15:00 Hrs. & check-out time: 11:00 Hrs
  • Tpl room: dbl bed + extra bed (as a 3rd person in a triple room, most hotels use rollaway beds and room size may be the same as the double room)

What to Expect

The second day unveils the treasures of Athens with a half-day city tour, including iconic sites like the Panathenaic Stadium and the Acropolis Museum. The adventure continues with a coastal road trip to Argolis and Olympia, where you’ll explore ancient theaters, archaeological sites, and the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

Delve into the history of Olympia before proceeding to Delphi, crossing the Corinthian Bay and exploring archaeological wonders. The journey takes a scenic turn as you visit the awe-inspiring Meteora in Kalambaka, with its monasteries perched on colossal rocks. The exploration concludes with a return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae.

The seventh day marks a transition to the enchanting island of Santorini, reached by ferry from Athens. Experience the Caldera & Oia sunset tour, sailing close to volcanic islands, indulging in hot springs, and exploring Thirasia Island.

The tour culminates in Oia, renowned for its spectacular sunset. On the ninth day, bid farewell to Santorini with a transfer to the airport, concluding this unforgettable 9-day sojourn through the cultural and natural wonders of Greece.

Itinerary

Day 1Athens

Arrival in Athens. Our transfer will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to your hotel. Check-in. Overnight.

Day 2Athens – Athens city tour & Acropolis museum

Breakfast and get ready for Athens Half day city tour. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop).

Continue and pass by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex. Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon.

Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum. Overnight.

Day 3Athens-Argolis-Olympia

Leave by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive on and visit the Theatre of Epidauros, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nauplion (short photo stop), drive on to Mycenae and visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon.

Then depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games. (Dinner)

Day 4Olympia-Delphi

In the morning visit the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Then drive on through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until the magnificent bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion.

Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea, arrive in Delphi. Overnight in Delphi. (Dinner)

Day 5Delphi-Kalambaka

In the morning visit the Archaeological Site and the Museum. Depart for Kalambaka, a small town stated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora, gigantic rocks. Overnight in Kalambaka. (Dinner)

Day 6Kalambaka-Athens

Visit Meteora, among striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air, stand ageless Monasteries, where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art.

Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae (short stop to see across the road the Leonida’s Monument). Arrive in Athens early in the evening. Overnight.

Day 7Athens - Santorini

Transfer to the port for your ferry boat to Santorini. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Check-in. Overnight.

Day 8Santorini - Caldera & Oia sunset tour

Breakfast and then starting the tour by bus from the pick-up point, we arrive at the port of Athinios and board the King Thiras boat. We will sail close to the old port of Fira and make our first stop in the volcanic island of Nea Kameni. Walking up the soil path, we will approach the crater of the still active volcano. The trip continues to the second volcanic island named Palea Kameni.

King Thiras boat makes a stop approximately 50 meters from the Hot Springs so you can dive in the green sulphur waters or simply relax and enjoy the view. After the Hot Springs we will sail to Thirasia Island which was part of Santorini before the big explosion of the volcano. We will stay in Thirasia for two hours having the chance to go swimming, have lunch next to the sea or explore the village of Manolas with its winding steps and traditional houses. Leaving Thirasia Island, King Thiras will take us to the port of Oia.

We will walk up the steps to the most famous place of the world for its amazing sunset. The tour ends 30 minutes after the sunset. We will gather at the pickup point in Oia where the bus will be waiting to take you back to the point you started the excursion. Overnight.

Day 9Santorini

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home, having the best impression from your trip!
